A certified and notarized translation is one which is being certified by the issuing officer of a translation agency or translator as to the accuracy of the information contained in the translation. Sometimes, the certified translations are also notarized for official use by a notary public. We recommend our client to request the instructions from the requesting party as to whether a notary public seal must be applied or not.
If your certified notarized document is intended for a country other than the United States, you may need an apostille certification service. Apostille is an international certification comparable to a notarization and is often added to documents that have been already signed and stamped by a notary public, attorney or other public official such as the clerk of a court of record in their official capacity. It specifies the modalities through which a document issued in one of the signatory countries can be certified for legal purposes in all the other signatory countries.
